What is Veozah used for?
Veozah (fezolinetant) is used to treat hot flashes and night sweats associated with menopause.
Veozah may also be used for other conditions as determined by your healthcare provider.
How does Veozah work (mechanism of action)?
Veozah blocks a chemical in the brain that causes hot flashes. Veozah does not contain hormones.
How is Veozah supplied (dosage forms)?
Veozah is available as 45 mg oral tablets that are taken by mouth.
How should I store Veozah?
Veozah should be stored at room temperature between 68 F to 77 F (20 C to 25 C). It can be exposed to temperatures between 59 F to 80 F (15 C to 30 C) for shorter periods of time, such as when transporting it. Store in a cool, dry place.
Side Effects
What are the most common side effects of Veozah?
The most common side effects of Veozah are listed below. Tell your healthcare provider if you have any of these side effects that bother you.
- Stomach pain
- Diarrhea
- Back pain
- Hot flashes
- Trouble sleeping

What are the serious side effects of Veozah?
While less common, the most serious side effects of Veozah are described below, along with what to do if they happen.
Severe Allergic Reactions. Veozah may cause allergic reactions, which can be serious. Stop taking Veozah and get help right away if you have any of the following symptoms of a serious allergic reaction.
- Breathing problems or wheezing
- Racing heart
- Fever or general ill feeling
- Swollen lymph nodes
- Swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue, or throat
- Trouble swallowing or throat tightness
- Itching, skin rash, or pale red bumps on the skin called hives
- Nausea or vomiting
- Dizziness, feeling lightheaded, or fainting
- Stomach cramps
- Joint pain
Liver Damage. Liver damage, also called hepatotoxicity, can happen when taking Veozah. Your healthcare provider will test your blood before and during treatment with Veozah. Keep all appointments to have your blood checked. Call your healthcare provider right away if you have any of the following symptoms of liver damage.
- Nausea or vomiting
- Stomach or belly pain
- Fever
- Weakness or unusual tiredness
- Itching
- Loss of appetite
- Light-colored poop
- Dark-colored urine (pee)
- Your skin or the whites of your eyes turning yellowish color (also called jaundice)
Warnings & Precautions
Who should not use Veozah?
Allergies to Ingredients. People who are allergic to any of the following should not take Veozah.
- Veozah
- Fezolinetant
- Any of the ingredients in the specific product dispensed
Your pharmacist can tell you all of the ingredients in Veozah.
Liver Problems. Veozah should not be used if your liver is not working as well as it should be, especially if you have cirrhosis. If there is a concern about the health of your liver, your healthcare provider may do tests to determine if it is working well enough to take this medicine.
Kidney Problems. Veozah should not be used if your kidneys are not working as well as they should be. If there is a concern about the health of your kidneys, your healthcare provider may do tests to determine if they are working well enough to take this medicine.
Drug Interactions. Veozah should not be taken while you are using certain other medicines. Before taking Veozah, tell your healthcare provider about any prescription or over the counter (OTC) medicines, vitamins/minerals, herbal productions, and other supplements you are using. See the Interactions section for more details.
What should I know about Veozah before using it?
Do not take Veozah unless it has been prescribed to you by a healthcare provider. Take it as prescribed.
Do not share Veozah with other people, even if they have the same condition as you. It may harm them.
Keep Veozah out of the reach of children.
Swallow Veozah whole, do not crush, break or chew. Take it at the same time every day.
What should I tell my healthcare provider before using Veozah?
Tell your healthcare provider about all of your health conditions and any prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, vitamins/minerals, herbal products, and other supplements you are using. This will help them determine if Veozah is right for you.
In particular, make sure that you discuss any of the following.
Pregnancy. It is not known if or how Veozah could affect pregnancy or harm an unborn baby. Tell your healthcare provider if you are or plan to become pregnant.
Breastfeeding. It is not known if Veozah passes into breast milk. Tell your healthcare provider if you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed.

Interactions
Does Veozah interact with foods or drinks?
Caffeine can increase the effect of Veozah. Limit caffeine while using Veozah.
There are no known interactions between Veozah and alcohol. It is best to limit the amount of alcohol you drink, as alcohol can increase hot flashes and can affect your liver.
Does Veozah interact with other medicines (drug interactions)?
Always tell your healthcare provider about any prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, vitamins/minerals, herbal products, and other supplements you are using.
In particular, make sure that you discuss if you are using any of the following before taking Veozah.
- Fluvoxamine (Luvox), which is a medicine commonly used for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
- Mexiletine, which is a medicine used for abnormal heartbeat or rhythm (arrhythmia)
- Cimetidine (Tagamet HB), which is a medicine commonly used for heartburn
Some other medicines may alter the blood levels of Veozah. Tell your healthcare provider about all medicines that you take or have recently taken.

Overdose/Missed Dose
What should I do if I accidentally use too much Veozah?
If you or someone else has used too much Veozah, get medical help right away, call 911, or contact a Poison Control center at 800-222-1222.
What should I do if I miss a dose of Veozah?
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless there is less than 12 hours before your next dose. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and only take the next dose. Do not take double or extra doses.
