I have sporadic panic attacks. My hands and face tingle, I shake, and my muscles turn to jello. I now keep a bottle of passionflower tincture in my purse at all times. It works really well to calm my panic attacks so I can react normally. I used to go into a panic attack anytime something unusual would happen, and even sometimes for no reason at all. Now when I know something is about to happen I ...

This was recommended by a friend...never thought it would work so well. Can't hardly open my eyes 10 minutes after taking a few dropper of the liquid.

Definitely one of those miracle herbs out there. After nights of heavy drinking, I experience a crippling blow of Anxiety. When I take Passionflower the morning after, it helps aid & lessen the anxious feelings & panic. I really think this almost works just as effective as Anti-Anxiety medications. Obviously Ativan & Xanax work faster and make you feel more doped up, but PassionFlower comes with no side-effects. It nulls racing thoughts when you're staring at the ceiling trying to fall asleep & puts you in lala land before you know it. Excellent natural way to combat mental stress.Read More Read Less

This is by far, the best treatment I have come across for anxiety. I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder with panic and am supposed to be on medication. I tried this after a woman at a health food store recommended it. It greatly reduces my irrational thoughts and anxiety. It works as well as the Klonopin I got from the doctor but rarely take. I take the Passion flower on a daily basis and it quickly relaxes me but does not interfere with my job or driving. I have tried many natural products for anxiety and this is the only thing that has helped. The brand I use is Mt. Angel Vitamins and it comes in a lozenge.Read More Read Less

I just started using this for anxiety. Idk how well it works just yet, i will update that later. Just be aware the liquid tastes like prune juice, atleast mine does. And YUK, LOL. I ordered 2 types to test how well they work for me ,and against each other. One contains alcohol , one does not. So we shall see. No bad side effects for me though, just the taste of it. But i won't put up with anything that upsets my stomach so i was most worried of that. And it didn't do that so that makes me happy atleast.Read More Read Less

Maybe it's something about me. Passion Flower does relax me an make me sleepy for a couple of hours. But then there's a pretty big rebound nervousness that lasts longer than a day. Feels like having drunk too much coffee. Note: I get a similar rebound effect from taking valarian.

I originally started taking Passion Flower to help with perimenopausal insomnia. So far it hasn't helped with my insomnia. But surprisingly it has stopped my hot flashes. I was having awful hot flashes and hadn't found anything that would relieve them. I've only been using it for about 2 weeks. I've tried the liquid extract and capsules but I'm not sure which one works better. I think the liquid extract works faster. But I have noticed that if I go longer than 4 hours without taking either, they start to begin again. Read More Read Less

When I was turned away from my doctor appointment because I didn't have the proper supplemental insurance, of course I could not get a refill of my meds. I turned to Passion Flower and found it relieved my severe anxiety to the point of some relief. And have found out I do not have to be a slave to drugs, insurance companies and doctors who are supposed to "do no harm."

I have never been an anxious person; in fact, I was always the cool head in emergencies and surprises and SNAFUs of all stripes. Then menopause hit--and with it, anxiety. My doctor has been great about working with me, trying combinations of anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds, but I still had generalized anxiety with bouts of extreme anxiety so intense that only 2-3 Atavan could mitigate. I had long since given up caffeine and other stimulants, and I haven't been able to drink in years due to GI troubles, so I even tried cannabis, which helped a tiny bit but is no good for work and driving and housework. That's when a friend gave me a baggie of "high-dose" passion flower caplets. After an initial period with one caplet three times a day, I noticed a great reduction in anxiety and a delightful elevation in mood. I finally had a mood, and it wasn't always a bad one. After a couple of weeks, I hit a bad spell, so I doubled up (2000 x 3), and I started feeling better within 15 minutes of dosing and much, MUCH better after two hours. I ran out while trying to find 1000 mg caplets and waiting for the delivery from Puritan Pride, so I have been having trouble again: I am functioning functionally, but I am so uncomfortable. I'm hoping that once I'm steadily back on a regular dose, I can kiss that rotten, miserable anxiety good-bye and embrace better moods. I really am a positive, optimistic, generous person, and I would like to feel that way again.Read More Read Less

I love, love, love passion flower. Not only did it help with my sleeplessness, it stopped my back and neck muscle spasms that I've had for quite awhile. I'm completely 100% sold on this product.

Having had a Pharmacist warn me that the Valerian I was taking to help me sleep, was dangerously acting on my liver, whilst I was taking the prescription drug CARDIZEM (Diltiazem hydrochide) for my heart - I was advised that by taking both these preparations together, I was causing an overdose. The Pharmacist suggested Passiflora Incarnata taken 2 to 3 times a day. I have been able to stop the Valerian, get to sleep at night and now find that up to 3 tablets of Passiflora Incarnata is allowing me to become more settled, and get on with my pottering in the garden. As I am 77 years of age, and have Severe Osteo Arthritis, this regime is a blessing, and has allowed me to save a little 4 yold Apricot Toy Poodle X, who was on death row in Brisbane. He looks after me, checks on my health daily, and has settled in with me, my 51 yold Son and his three boys, who give him lots of attention too. If I hadn't started Bioplus Sedacalm Passiflora Incarnata, my well being, and that of 4 others, plus one bundle of energetic fur, in this household would be very much the poorer.Read More Read Less
