Ashley Hayes, senior editor for news at WebMD, manages WebMD’s daily news coverage, including original news content and news blogs. Before joining WebMD, she spent 10 years at CNN, including 2 years in charge of CNN.com’s Health section and 8 years covering breaking news. Before that, she worked at The Salt Lake Tribune in Salt Lake City, UT, where she held various beats including crime and corrections, social services and education, as well as covering ski jumping at the 2002 Winter Olympics. She also spent several years at the Associated Press’s Montgomery, AL, bureau.
Hayes is a cum laude graduate of Auburn University, where she received a BA in corporate journalism with minors in public relations and psychology.
