Marsha Walton, Author at WebMD

Marsha Walton is a freelance writer for WebMD. She has more than 40 years of experience as a journalist, with expertise in science, technology, medical, and environmental reporting.

With degrees from Northwestern and Columbia universities, she has experience in broadcast print, and digital media.

She spent nearly 20 years at CNN, mostly as a producer field producer and reporter for the science and technology unit. As a freelancer, she has worked for the National Science Foundation, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the conservation show “This American Land” airing on PBS, Georgetown University’s “Planet Forward,” Mother Nature Network, and Women’s E-News.

In 2002 she was awarded the Dr. Michael DeBakey journalism award for “Mighty Mouse: A bioengineered mouse whose muscles do not age.”

She does volunteer work for Inspiritus, assisting the refugee community.
