Professor Nancy L. Cohen, PhD, RD, is chairwoman of the department of nutrition at the University of Massachusetts. She earned a BS in 1980 from Cornell University and a PhD in 1984 from the University of California at Davis. Cohen's research interests include community nutrition, nutrition education, distance education, food safety education, and factors influencing dietary intake. She is a member of the Society for Nutrition Education, serving on the Board of Directors from 1998-2001, and a member of the American Dietetic Association.
