Ron Reagan, son of former President Ronald Reagan and Nancy Reagan, grew up in Los Angeles and Sacramento while his father served as Governor of California from 1967-1975. He attended Yale, but left to begin a career in dance with the Joffrey Ballet. In recent years, Reagan has pursued a career as a magazine writer and talk show host, and is currently a contributor to Hardball on MSNBC.

Since his father's death from Alzheimer's earlier this year, Reagan has been speaking out on the subject of stem cell research, and advocates increased research and federal funding. He spoke at the 2004 Democratic National Convention on the issue. Scientists believe that stem cells could be used to treat Parkinson's disease, diabetes, lymphoma and a host of other disorders. Alzheimer's would be far down the list of potentially treatable diseases from stem cell research.
