Samantha Chencharik is a New Jersey-based independent journalist and editor who specializes in public health, precision medicine, education, and philanthropy. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Newsweek, BBC World News, National Geographic, NeuroLeadership Institute, and Medical Daily. She is a member of the National Association of Science Writers and a professional writing mentor for Visible Ink, a writing therapy program for cancer patients and survivors.
Chencharik is a Ph.D. candidate studying English with a focus on narrative medicine. She holds an M.S. in journalism from Stony Brook University and a B.A. in professional writing from King’s College. As a National Press Foundation fellow, Chencharik underwent specialized training at Mayo Clinic's Center for Individualized Medicine.
