What is Ebglyss used for?
Ebglyss (lebrikizumab-lbkz) is commonly used to treat a skin condition that causes dry, itchy, red skin called atopic dermatitis or eczema.
Ebglyss may also be used for other conditions as determined by your healthcare provider.
How does Ebglyss work (mechanism of action)?
Ebglyss works by blocking the effect of a substance called interleukin-13 (IL-13). This substance is normally made by your body and is part of your body’s response to inflammation. Blocking this substance can help treat the symptoms of atopic dermatitis.
How is Ebglyss supplied (dosage forms)?
Ebglyss is available in the following dosage forms that are injected under the skin (subcutaneous).
- 250 mg/2 mL single-dose prefilled pen
- 250 mg/2 mL single-dose prefilled syringe
How should I store Ebglyss?
Store Ebglyss in the original carton in a refrigerator, between 36 F to 46 F (2 C to 8 C). Do not freeze Ebglyss.
You can store Ebglyss for up to 7 days at room temperature, up to 86 F (30 C), in the original carton to protect it from light.
Do not store Ebglyss above 86 F (30 C) or in direct sunlight. Throw Ebglyss away if it was heated, frozen, or after 7 days if kept at room temperature.
Side Effects
What are the most common side effects of Ebglyss?
The most common side effects of Ebglyss are listed below. Tell your healthcare provider if you have any of these side effects that bother you.
- Eye problems, such as eyelid redness, swelling, or itching, called conjunctivitis (see below)
- Pain, redness, itching, or swelling at the injection site
- Shingles (herpes zoster)

What are the serious side effects of Ebglyss?
While less common, the most serious side effects of Ebglyss are described below, along with what to do if they happen.
Severe Allergic Reactions. Ebglyss may cause allergic reactions, which can be serious. Stop using Ebglyss and get help right away if you have any of the following symptoms of a serious allergic reaction.
- Breathing problems or wheezing
- Racing heart
- Fever or general ill feeling
- Swollen lymph nodes
- Swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue, or throat
- Trouble swallowing or throat tightness
- Itching, skin rash, or pale red bumps on the skin called hives
- Nausea or vomiting
- Dizziness, feeling lightheaded, or fainting
- Stomach cramps
- Joint pain
Eye Problems. Ebglyss may cause eye problems, such as pink eye (conjunctivitis) and inflammation of the cornea (keratitis). Contact your healthcare provider right away if you have any of the following symptoms.
- Eye redness, itchiness, or pain
- Swollen or itchy eyelids
- Feeling like you have something in your eye
- Eye dryness, watering, or discharge
- Vision changes, such as blurry vision or sensitivity to light
Warnings & Precautions
Who should not use Ebglyss?
Allergies to Ingredients. People who are allergic to any of the following should not use Ebglyss.
- Ebglyss
- Lebrikizumab-lbkz
- Any of the ingredients in the specific product dispensed

What should I know about Ebglyss before using it?
Do not use Ebglyss unless it has been prescribed to you by a healthcare provider. Use it as prescribed.
Do not share Ebglyss with other people, even if they have the same condition as you. It may harm them.
Keep Ebglyss out of the reach of children. Since this medicine may be kept in a refrigerator, take special precautions to keep it away from children who also use the refrigerator.
This medicine is injected under the skin. Make sure that you or a caregiver understands how to properly prepare and use Ebglyss. If you have any questions, talk to your healthcare provider.
Make sure to take Ebglyss out of the refrigerator 45 minutes before injecting the medicine. This way it can reach room temperature before injecting under the skin.
Do not warm Ebglyss in the microwave, direct sunlight, hot liquid, or any other heat source. This can damage the medicine.
Look at the liquid in the pen chamber or syringe before using. Do not use Ebglyss if the liquid is cloudy or contains visible particles. The solution should be clear, colorless, slightly yellow, or slightly brown.
Do not use Ebglyss if the pen or syringe is broken, damaged, or cracked.
Do not shake Ebglyss. This can damage the medicine.
Inject Ebglyss into your front upper thigh or abdomen. Avoid injecting too close to the belly button, knee, or groin.
Ebglyss can also be injected into your upper arm but only if it is given by your healthcare professional or caregiver.
Use a different injection site each time you use Ebglyss. Do not give the injection into tender areas, bruises, scars, red skin, hard skin, or skin that is affected by atopic dermatitis.
Throw away Ebglyss after you give yourself a dose, even if there is medicine left in the pen or syringe. Each pen or syringe is good for just one use. Throw Ebglyss in a sharps container or in a household container made of heavy-duty plastic that is able to close tightly and is puncture- and leak-resistant.
What should I tell my healthcare provider before using Ebglyss?
Tell your healthcare provider about all of your health conditions and any prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, vitamins/minerals, herbal products, and other supplements you are using. This will help them determine if Ebglyss is right for you.
In particular, make sure that you discuss any of the following.
Parasite Infection. Ebglyss might make it more difficult for your body to fight certain parasite infections caused by worms (helminths). Tell your healthcare provider if you have a worm infection so it can be treated before you start Ebglyss. If you become infected with a worm, such as pinworm, tell your healthcare provider.
Vaccines. Talk with your healthcare provider about any vaccines that you may need. You should not receive certain vaccines right before or while using Ebglyss. Tell your healthcare provider about any vaccines you have recently received or have scheduled.
Pregnancy. It is not known if or how Ebglyss could affect pregnancy or harm an unborn baby. Tell your healthcare provider if you are or plan to become pregnant. If you become pregnant while taking Ebglyss, report it to Eli Lilly and Company by calling 800-545-5979. They will collect safety information about the use of Ebglyss during pregnancy.
Breastfeeding. It is not known if Ebglyss passes into breast milk. Tell your healthcare provider if you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. Your healthcare provider will advise you if you should take Ebglyss while breastfeeding.

Does Ebglyss interact with foods or drinks?
There are no known interactions between Ebglyss and foods or drinks.

Overdose/Missed Dose
What should I do if I accidentally use too much Ebglyss?
If you or someone else has used too much Ebglyss, get medical help right away, call 911, or contact a Poison Control center at 800-222-1222.
What should I do if I miss a dose of Ebglyss?
If you miss a dose of Ebglyss, inject the dose as soon as you remember. Inject your next scheduled dose at your regular time.
