Uses
What is Hympavzi used for?
Hympavzi (marstacimab-hncq) is commonly used to prevent or reduce bleeding from the following inherited conditions.
- Hemophilia A, also known as congenital factor VIII deficiency
- Hemophilia B, also known as congenital factor IX deficiency
Hympavzi may also be used for other conditions as determined by your healthcare provider.
How does Hympavzi work (mechanism of action)?
People with hemophilia A or B have trouble forming blood clots and problems stopping bleeding. Hympavzi is an antibody that blocks a substance in the body called tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI). TFPI helps to stop blood clots from forming. By blocking TFPI, Hympavzi increases your body’s ability to form clots and may reduce bleeding.
