Uses

What is Itovebi used for?

Itovebi (inavolisib) is commonly used to treat certain types of breast cancer. Itovebi is usually used in combination with other medicines.

Itovebi may also be used for other conditions as determined by your healthcare provider.

How does Itovebi work (mechanism of action)?

Itovebi is a specific kind of medicine called a kinase inhibitor. Kinases are enzymes that are responsible for sending and receiving signals in the body. These signals help your cells do important functions, such as grow properly. Itovebi blocks a kinase called phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K). This kinase sends signals to cancer cells that help them grow and multiply. When Itovebi blocks the signals sent by PI3K, it helps to stop cancer cells from growing and multiplying and makes tumors shrink in size.
